Customer Review: Not nearly as bad as the other reviews imply
Summary: 4 Stars
This is a good blender. It crushes ice fine (although you must add liquid to create a vortex and move the pieces around) and hasn't died yet. Out of the box, it does not leak. Yes, it will leak liquid but only if you don't install replacement blades correctly. If you don't hear two clicks when seating the blade assembly, the gasket will not completely seal the assembly. Read the manual. Its not that hard to use and the replacement blades are a very nice feature. I'm giving it 4 stars because blade replacement isn't as obvious as it should be without reading the manual.
Description of T-Fal 67972 Avante Inox 12-Speed Blender
The Avante 12 speed blender is the only blender that has an ice crushing blade stored in the bottom off the base. You add in the magiclean system and it is also the easiest blender to clean as well.This powerful 12-speed blender does everything from stir to mince to liquefy, making it a versatile kitchen appliance. On its lower settings, the blender is great for stirring pancake batter or pureeing soups and, at higher settings, can blend everything from pesto to pie filling. Additionally, a dry food pulse setting gives the blender similar functions to a food processor. At maximum power, the Avante can even crush ice for tropical drinks or shakes and includes a special ice-crushing blade and power button.
The 42-ounce shatter-resistant glass jar holds about 5 cups of ingredients and, for safety, must be securely locked into the base for the blender to operate. The Avante?s MagiClean system releases the blender?s blade for cleaning with the touch of a button. A drawer in the bottom of the appliance discreetly stores whichever blade is not currently being used. T-Fal warrants this product for up to 1 year from the date of purchase. --Cristina Vaamonde
