I love this toaster. First bought the Kitchenaid but returned it because I couldn't get it to toast anywhere darker than beige. Price was no object.
Why I love it:
1. Great light to dark range adjustment
2. Wide slots with grips inside that hold thin to thick breads
3. Digital countdown lights that show me how much longer the toasting cycle has to go (great for when I want to prep something else while the toaster's working - I can just look over at the blinking lights)
4. Gentle "ding" lets me know the toast is done.
5. Bagel setting
6. Warming setting
7. Manual lift lever that raises the toasted item even higher than it's default position - in case you have an unusually small item you're toasting.
8. Exterior doesn't get burning hot like a metal toaster would.
My toaster didn't come dirty, as someone else stated. It looked clean and new right out of the box. It's worked beautifully for 6 months so far. The price was very reasonable (Almost didn't buy it because I thought the price was indicating an inferior product). I'm 57 and this is the best toaster I've ever had.
